Virtue Deeds in Lothlorien

While Lothlorien is not a strong zone for earning virtues, we still recommend everyone earn enough Galadhrim reputation (Friend) to enter Caras Galadhon. Even if you don't need the super easy rank of Valour there, you can earn nearly 20 Lothlorien Gold Leaves from fast and easy quests there. Anyone interested in boosting their Melee Defence will want to go for the rank of Innocence earned by killing orcs in Lothlorien. You'll get a bunch just questing here, and can finish up by running the daily quests from Talan Fanuidhol and Talan Gwilith.

Keep in mind that these are only a few of the virtues you can work on in this zone. You may want to return later to earn more. See Choosing Your Virtues for more information.

The Epic Story and Lothlorien

LOTRO Flets in Caras Galadhon, Lothlorien
Lothlorien figures prominently in Volume II of the epic story. We recommend you complete Books 6 and 7 before you start repeatable quests in Lothorien. These pay a ton of Galadhrim reputation and will hasten your entry to the Golden Wood. Volume II, Book 8 sends you back into Moria to destroy Gorothul's relics. Trade any Medallions of Lothlorien you've earned the to the barter vendor or your class trainer in Caras Galadhon.

Crafting and Lothlorien

Gatherers love the Golden Wood. It's packed with Tier 6b nodes - Khazad-iron and Khazad-gold deposits, Mallorn branches and Sage caskets. Mithril flakes are fairly easy to find, both from ore nodes and rare monsters. Many of the regular beasts in the area just threaten making gathering here a breeze. You can kill them for their Extraordinary hides, just avoid the "protected" ones if you want to preserve your Galadhrim reputation.

Guilded crafters will want to visit the vendors at The Vineyards of Lorien to purchase Tier 6 recipes (beware the reputation restrictions). One shot recipes and crafting critical components for non-guilded professions are available from the barter vendors at the docks in Imlad Lalaith. In addition to the crafting facitilies at The Vineyards of Lorien, there is a Crafting Hall on Telain Galadhrim in Caras Galadhon, one ladder up from the vault and auction house.

I hit 65 a few days ago, having mostly skipped Lothlorian. Aside from having something to do while waiting for fellowships (on a new server; lvl 65 population still low), and of course enjoying the content, is there any particular reason I should go back and do Lothlorian? There's the crafting recipes, I guess, and ... what? Deeds? Not seeing much else.

You'll want to do the Lothlorien content. There are numerous faction rewards (such as a 168% speed mount) that will require you have kindred standing with Galadhrim. You should try to get Kindred with as many factions as you can stand to grind out, but you should def make Lothlorien a must finish. The rep rewards alone make it worth it.

I was first anon here, and I am now doing the Lothlorian content. Another point not raised by anon #2: lots of item exp from quests.

It might be worth mentioning that some of the deeds, eg. orc slayer, beast slayer and exploration, do not activate until you are level 58. I killed a lot of orcs for quests while at level 57. If I had realised I would have gone back into Moria for half a level, then started Lothlorien at 58.

I'm not sure but i think that Lothlorien is not included in Moria quest pack/expansion anymore...
