Using This GuideThe mmorsel LOTRO Gold Guide is written for LOTRO players, not gold sellers (aka the scum of Middle-earth). Our intent is to give LOTRO players the information they need to be prosperous while enjoying the game.
The chapters are organized by level, and each gives a different gold making strategy. Come back every 10 levels or so for new gold making strategies to add to your arsenal.
Level 1LOTRO Gold Basics - Before you go out and farm gold you should master good habits that will both lessen your need to farm gold and help you hold onto the gold you earn.
Level 10Make LOTRO Gold by Mining - As a prospector, you can make good gold starting at level 7 selling ore and gems. Turn on ore node tracking and mine as you quest and level. If you are short on in-game gold, dedicating some time to mining can net big returns.
Make LOTRO Gold with Hides & Leather - Make good gold by killing masses of hide-dropping beasts and selling their hides on the Auction House. These mobs will also drop stackable loot, which sells well to NPC vendors.
Make LOTRO Gold with the Auction House - When trying to raise your in-game wealth, the Auction House can be your best friend or worst enemy. How can you save time when using the auction house? How should you price your auctions?
Level 20Make LOTRO Gold with Skirmishes - Starting at level 20, you can run skirmishes and trade your skirmish marks for valuable loot. This will take an initial investment in your pet so you can run the skirmishes efficiently, but if you enjoy running skirmishes, it can be an effective way to make gold.
Level 25Make LOTRO Gold by Slaying - After level 25 or so, you can make good gold by slaying masses of mobs. This is the level at which you can start killing level 20+ mobs quickly and efficiently.
Level 55Make LOTRO Gold by Chest Running - An easy way to make gold is to loot chests. Unless the area is quite large, you'll probably want to kill mobs for additional loot while you wait for the chests to respawn.
Make LOTRO Gold with Legendary Items - Legendary Item farming is an opportunity best realized by LOTRO players at max level. Just by running the daily repeatable quests in Moria and Mirkwood, you can earn serious gold by selling dropped loot and items you can trade for.
