Angmar is a large zone, with content spanning level 40 to 50. Add questing in Angmar to your level 40 to 50 leveling plan, along with Misty Mountains, Forochel and Eregion. Be sure not to miss Crannog's Challenge series in Aughaire at level 43 -- these quests are fairly easy and give good gear rewards.

Crossing the Dread Line

A feature of Angmar you need to be aware of is a line of watching stones collectively known as the "dread line". If you approach the dread line before completing Chapter 6 of Volume 1, Book 6 (aka 1.6.6) you WILL die (note the skeletons on the ground). Completing Book 6, Chapter 6 lets you pass to the eastern side of Angmar and access the content there. Even if you do no other part of the epic story, we recommend you complete Book 6. Angmar Instances

Questing in Gath Forthnir opens quest lines to the excellent level-50 Angmar instances of Carn Dum, Urugarth, Barad Gularan and The Rift. While you can get the dropped items for your level 50 class quest from skirmishes, consider running Carn Dum and Urugarth instead - it's great content.
