Literally the diseased underbelly of Moria, Foundations of Stone is packed with blind Nameless and Globsnaga orcs, goblins, trolls and spiders hidden among the fungus and decay. Be prepared to remove corruptions; the trolls and nameless can be difficult to beat otherwise. Questing here can be hard at level - work with a partner if you can. There is another daily repeatable mirror quest here that rewards IXP and level 58-65 potions. Many players skip questing in Foundations of Stone for the welcome escape from Moria into the Dimril Dale (59-60) area of Lothlorien.
Instances Connected to Foundations of Stone
Skumfil is a level 60+ 6-man group instance; quests come from The Shadowed Refuge. Like other Moria instances, loot includes Medallions of Moria and rare jewelry drops. Minstrels and Champions will want to visit here to complete their level 58 class quests.Dark Delvings (60+) is the most challenging of the Moria 6-man group instances, in part due to the requirement for Shadow Defence, especially for tanks. Check your class trainer and armor barter vendors in Moria and Lothlorien for armor sets with Shadow Defence bonuses. It's also helpful to trait Fidelity. Guardians and Wardens in particular will want to visit here to complete their level 58 class quests. Loot includes Medallions of Moria and rare jewelry drops.
Foundations of Stone is also home to Dar Narbugud, a challenging level 60+ 12-man raid instance that requires each member to have at least 65 radiance from armor (more for harder bosses) and rank 10 Tolerance traited. Run this with an experienced team that has a strategy for each of the six boss fights. Loot includes Greater Elf-Stones (a different one from each boss), Medallions of Lothlorien and other goodies. Greater Elf-Stones are traded to your class trainer in Caras Galadhon for the various pieces the 6-piece Dar Narbugud radiance set. See Choosing Your Radiance Armour Set for more info.
