Leveling Plan for 32-40

LOTRO Evendim. Care for a swim?
Revised for Update 2

For levels 32-40, your choices for new zones are Evendim and Trollshaws. With the revamp of Evendim in Update 2, these levels should be a breeze.

If you need to complete the quest deeds in  North Downs, the quests from Esteldin to points east are in this level range as well.

Free and Premium Tactics

Of the two quest packs for this range, Evendim is the more attractive of the two, especially if you want to run Annuminas groups from level 40 on. Trollshaw's best content is 40+, but there are other options to consider for those levels.

As before, you will want to complete all quests and deeds in content packs you own. Be sure to do the level 30 Gift Box quests, Volume I Books 3 & 4 and the intro rep quests.

New Options for Character Improvement

Legendary Traits are a key component in your character's "builds" at higher levels. These traits can give class-defining abilities, such as Champion's Raging Blade or Minstrel's Fellowship's Heart. While some may be more useful than others, earning all of your legendary and class traits gives you the flexibility to create strong builds for soloing, grouping, raiding and PvMP.

Your first opportunity to work on legendary traits comes at level 39 and starts with your class trainer. See Earning Your Legendary Traits for details.

AreaDetails
Class TraitsMore Class Deeds opened up at 30. Equip class traits that complement your playstyle and provide set bonuses. Free and premium players should start working on unlocking additional class trait slots.

As a beta-testing free player who didn't use beta-points to open content until 42, I'll suggest using IG and "the unmarked trail" via the pool in rivendell to get lots of XP quickly, faster than skirmishes, with less risk of death.

Annuminas has nice instances, but it doesn't award XP on completion, only Rep for the daily quests, so you may want to consider trying to push through this zone and spend your hard earned points in the 42-50 range. Angmar, MM, or Eregion.

whats IG? :D

Inspired Greatness - the buff you get when doing group chapters of the epic story solo.

Jon's suggestion above is even better now that we have the task system. Each run through "The Unmarked Trail" yields heaps of trophies for turn-ins at the Thorenhad task board, giving extra experience plus reputation.

how do you repeat that part of the story though? Im pretty sure i tried to use the pool in rivendell but it said i couldn't use it. Do i need to finish book 4 to do so?

nm i see what i did wrong, thank you

Hey all :) At what level can that "Unmarked trail" be done? I'm just starting book 3, so is it worth it to go straight to Rivendell to do this? I'm also level 32, and out of quests in the LL except for the GA fellowship quests....Is there a good spot in North Downs that would be a good place to get a couple more levels before I decide on Evendim or Trolls?

The Unmarked Trail unlocks somewhere around level 35 (it's a 40ish quest). Level 32-40 are slow for VIPs and super slow for F2P without any quest packs. My suggestions are:
~ Each skirmish daily quest pays 4,651 xp - do them everyday during this range!
~ If you can afford it, get the Evendim quest pack. The downside to Evendim is all the swimming, but quests do speed leveling. 32 is a great level to start Evendim.
~ Grind rep! See Reputation by Level and Content
~ If you've done book Book 3, The Defense of Trestlebridge chapter is repeatable from the Esteldin reflecting pool.
~ Run the GA dailies.

I'm sure others have ideas to get through these tough levels.

On the Everswim bit: I just completed all the quests in the zone (they only ate up 3 levels 38-41, compared to ND which was 30-38) minus the lvl 50 quests of course, and I only ended up swimming short distances when I either had no other choice (Salamander Island) or it was much shorted to swim (from Tinnudir to the ruins to the south). Granted, I had swift travel available so for F2p you're stuck swimming, but I've made my viewpoint fairly clear on buying in for at least 1 month.

TLDR, I found that "Everswim" wasn't an accurate description as I didn't have to swim if I didn't want to swim except in a couple of cases.

I'm the poster from above that was deciding what to do at 32. I did the quests in ND's that were based to the east of Esteldin. I think there were 20 or so. I'm at 34 now and headed to Evendim after I do the epics in ND. I'm having a really HARD time with the council of the north.

The dwarf one was easy, but I got my butt handed to me trying to solo the Uruk Hai guy. The elfstone for the buff didn't appear to be working for me or something. Maybe that one just isn't soloable at 34. I haven't attempted the "protect Trestlebridge" yet since it doesn't appear to be doable without a group either. Am I doing something wrong on there, or just trying to do them too early?

The elf stone for the orc / uruk camp bit is a bit odd. You need to first get to where the quest guide tells you to go within the camp. Once there, you'll get a message saying you can call upon inspiration right before the gate into the deepest part of the camp. Use the elf stone then. The inspiration is a huge buff for you. Some inconvenient bits about inspiration are that it has a time limit generally and does go on/off in certain parts on your way to the boss. At the boss itself, the inspiration will remain kicked in, assuming you haven't taken too long to get there. As for protect Trestlebridge, you'll get a huge buff with inspiration if you solo it. At 34, these should be do-able. Your class may be another consideration too.

Can't wait for 40+ leveling plan. I'm almost done with Evendim and I still can't decide what pack to get next. I'm pretty sure I'd love Eregion (it always fascinated me ever since I first read Tolkien), but from purely pragmatic point of view, Angmar seems like a better deal. Thing is, I don't like "dark" zones. :-)

As for Eregion, Its meant for players around 47-52, I'd take Angmar before i would go to Eregion. Eregion is good stop before Moria if you own the expansion.
Angmar is really nice pack, as there are lots of lvl 50 instances to do and quests arent scattered too far of eachother. One of the best regions in whole game in my opinion. Also, if youre about to do your class quest at lvl 45-50, you should consider taking Angmar first.
Thats just opinion of vip, i have no idea what f2p's are able to do.

"The 3 Garth Agarwen instances are added to your Classic Join panel at level 32. You must be VIP or own the Lone-lands Quest Pack to run these."

Not anymore. Lone-lands is free.
